As I’ve mentioned before, I grew up playing video games.
But there’s one I just don’t get: MINECRAFT. I’ve watched my kid play (always on creative mode; I don’t approve of survival mode for my seven year old) long enough now, though, to know that it’s a game of problem solving, creative thinking and — frankly — a pretty masterful feat of engineering.
The K Man had always played on the iPad or iPhone, and has begged me for years to get a different gaming device for our entertainment system just so he can play on the big screen. So when MINECRAFT came out on the WiiU, it was a must-have. And thanks to Nintendo Canada, we surprised him on Christmas morning with it already installed and set up on the TV.
Since then, he’s been playing it frequently enough to have learned about the major differences between MINECRAFT for Apple and MINECRAFT for WiiU. Best that he explain that himself:
