I wasn’t shopping for Halloween costumes. But then I saw The Cake, and I knew Miss Q would go crazy for it. And then out of the corner of my eye, I spotted the costume that The K Man had been talking about for months — in his size. So what if it was the end of August? What I love about shopping at Winners or Marshalls for my kids’ Halloween costumes is that there aren’t 14 rows of the exact same thing; there might only be one (like the cake costume) in the bunch. Unique is good, especially on a dark Halloween night when you’re trying to spot your kid in the mix. I also like that they’re usually less than $30, which I don’t mind spending because my kids and their friends tend to play dress-up with those costumes long after Halloween. What do your kids want to be for Halloween this year?
