Beauty & The Beast dolls, collectibles and a great big play date

I have been waiting for this movie to arrive for a year — maybe more. Beauty and the Beast is one of my all-time favourite Disney films, and I can’t wait to see how the animated feature will be adapted with real humans when it finally comes to the big screen on March 17, 2017.

So, here’s our plan…

Miss Q’s going to get dressed up in her best Belle threads and we’re going to have a princess date. Don’t blame me if we sing too loudly in the theatre.

Donning a Belle dress from Great Pretenders (available at Toys R Us), Miss Q plays with a handful of the newest Beauty and the Beast toys.

Want to celebrate this timeless tale with a bunch of other Beauty and the Beast fans? Drop by any Toys R Us store in Canada on March 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a special play date event. Kids are invited to make and take home a Play-Doh rose, and they can also enter to win a Beauty and the Beast prize pack in-store.

While you’re there, check out some of the new Beauty and the Beast toys and collectibles from Hasbro. They’re really impressive — especially the smaller pieces. They have so much detail and they’re proving to make for great imaginative play in our house.

It’s Chip! From the painted face to the asymmetrical chip in his cup, it’s clear that a lot of care went into creating these toys.

  17. Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney movie. I’m so excited to see this one with my oldest. We saw Disney on Ice yesterday and I just loved the section they did for it.

    Favourite song is the title song – Beauty and the Beast. It gives me shivers!

  25. “Be our Guest” is pretty anthemic in our house! And it’s actually the parent (me) that’s singing it! My daughter’s favorite Beauty and the Beast song is the theme song.
