Since becoming a P&G Mom, I’ve wrestled with how many of the product giant’s brands I can authentically promote. To their credit, both P&G and its PR agency have been beyond understanding and accommodating.
One brand I have been really surprised by and have no trouble endorsing is COVERGIRL. I’ve liked every product so far and the price point is hard to beat.
One of COVERGIRL’s newest products that I’m kind of excited to tell you about is truMAGIC Skin Perfector. Stay tuned for details about how to win truMAGIC (and a bunch of other COVERGIRL beauty stuff!) and ready your smartphone for #selfie central.
THE GOOD

COVERGIRL truMAGIC is pretty amazing if you have a few fine lines here and there like I do. I found it really minimized the budding crow’s feet and the horizontal lines on my forehead that are settling like layers of sand in those sand-art pieces from the early 1990s.
If you’re a no-makeup kind of girl, this might become your best friend. The clear version really does go on completely colourless and just kind of “blurs” your skin a little, like a bit of instant Photoshop.
If you have shiny skin that you powder down like crazy, give truMAGIC a whirl. I found it made me look matte instantly.

Despite it’s waxy appearance, it leaves my skin soft to the touch and ridiculously smooth. It makes a great primer.
It comes in three shades, but I can only spout off about The Perfector. I’m really curious about the effects of The Sunkisser and The Luminizer!
I tend to break out pretty easily if there are any pore-clogging properties in a product that goes on my face. I have yet to get one pimple since using truMAGIC and there was even one night (for which I will not provide further details) that it didn’t get removed before I drifted off to sleep.
THE GAFFE
I don’t love truMAGIC over top of my preferred foundation. Perhaps it’s because it mattifies the dewy look for which I’ve paid Mr. Armani an arm and a leg. Perhaps because I really need to stick with COVERGIRL foundation for the product to really do its best.
I’ve only used this product for about two weeks and I already have a bare patch, so with daily use, I don’t think truMAGIC would last much longer than a month for me. For $13.99, though, I’m pretty sure it fits into the budget.

I am most excited to try the truMAGIC Skin Perfector because you can sse it alone as a mattifier, under makeup as a primer, over makeup to complete your look, or as a skin refresher throughout the day
That is really neat that it can be used so many different ways .

I am most excited to try the truBLEND Foundation. I have combination skin and I find it hard to find a foundation that doesn’t make me look too greasy in my oily areas and cakey in the dry areas. I’d love to see how this fairs.

I am most excited to try BOTH! But if I have to pick one, I’d choose the gloss. I’m a lip gloss junkie!
Andrea, I just love how HONEST you are with your reviews. I totally trust your opinion. There are so many bloggers out there that are affiliated with brands and therefore seem to think they have to LOVE everything. Seriously, you can’t love everything a brand makes or sends you and that’s OK! I don’t trust their opinions when they never have anything negative to say. You’re real and true to yourself. Thank you!

Thank you so much for such kind words! I really, really try to be as objective as possible and I think readers AND brands respect honesty. And in some cases, it has made brands go back to the drawing board to make better products, which is ultimately better for consumers. I love having you as such an engaged reader. Thank you!
