The movie: Delivery Man (DreamWorks)
When it’s available: March 25, 2014
What it’s about: Picture the most aimless 20-something you know, devoid of ambition and direction. Now, have Vince Vaughn play that person in a movie. This 20-something, looking for easy money, is a sperm donor with remarkably strong and desirable sperm (to the tune of $24,000 in payment for his, erm, specimen). Fast-forward 15 to 20 or so years and he’s in the family business delivering meat because it’s basically the only job with which his family trusts him. He’s in a relationship, barely. In the same day it seems, he finds out that his girlfriend is pregnant and that he’s also fathered 522 children via the donor clinic. The story meanders along from there and we see him find a fatherly moral compass…blah, blah, blah…happy ending.
The verdict? I lost interest halfway through and regrettably stuck with it to the end. Rent it if you have nothing else to watch. Don’t buy it. Unless you’re a huge Vince Vaughn fan and are as forgiving and loyal to him as megafans were to JLo when she made Gigli.

Though I haven’t seen this movie, based on your description, I know it’s the English remake of the Quebec film “Starbuck” — which was just excellent and heart-warming. Though I suspect this Vince Vaughn version has probably ruined the element of surprise, I’d recommend seeing the original if you get the chance.

Hey – thanks! Good to know…I’m going to have to watch the original. It can’t be worse…
