THE PRODUCT
Bunny in the Moon – a music CD for kids by DidiPop.
THE GOOD
- Designed and timed to wind down after dinner and lead to bedtime, Bunny in the Moon starts with up-tempo songs about bathtime and toothbrushing and slows down as it suggests your child get into bed and fall asleep
- Didi has a pretty, soothing voice that’s really easy to enjoy
- Lots of catchy tunes – catchy enough that my kids ask for more when the CD comes to an end (full disclosure: we listen to this CD in the car! My kids have never been hooked on falling asleep to music and I didn’t want to tempt a new habit. They’re quite happy with Mommy’s versions of Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Baby Mine)
- If you’re looking to create a bedtime routine, this CD could be a great starting point
- Well-written lyrics that don’t make me want to put razors in my ears like another CD I had to review
- Very fair price at just $10 for the digital CD ($15 if you want the hard copy)
THE GAFFE
- I’m personally not a fan of encouraging music playing while kids are falling asleep; I think you can end up in a nasty situation where you have to find a player with a “repeat” option or you may find yourself with a child who wakes up every 38 minutes when the CD ends. My suggestion is to use it during the bath to bed part of the routine and then learn the songs yourself and sing a couple while you lull your child into dreamland. There are plenty that could become your and your babe’s special night-night song
