I’ve been doing a lot of work around the house – from our laundry reno to closet organization – and I’ve been working my buns off into the wee hours just about every night of the week to share information about different products for your family, like this super-fun assignment with Canadian Family.
Unfortunately, that hasn’t left a lot of time for…well…me. I’ve put on weight, my skin has looked better and I have to remind myself mid-afternoon to drink my first glass of water for the day. And just forget about peeing. Who has time to pee?
It needs to stop.
I need to carve out that “me time” that we all talk so much about. And I’m making A Commitment to Me starting this Monday. I’m embarking on an eight-week body and mind rejuvenation challenge with Garden of Life. And my walking shoes. I’m making appointments with myself, I’m cutting out the crap and I’m going to get back into my skinny jeans, damnit.

And it all starts on Monday with a 12-day detox called the Wild Rose Cleanse. Don’t worry, it’s not one of those starvation cleanses where I’ll look down and find my belly-button lint or big toe appealing enough to eat. There’s actually a lot of different foods allowed and I did a big shop today to ensure we have every last thing on “the list” I need so I can eat my heart out.
I’ll share my results with you in about eight weeks and let you know how I felt every step of the way – and if I manage to get back into some of my pre-blogging clothes.
There are a lot of protein shakes and weight-loss aids out there, but I chose Garden of Life after meeting the brand at BlogHer ’13. I love that it’s completely organic, raw, vegan and gluten-free. And it was also just bestowed with the Non-GMO Project Verification seal for its Vitamin Code supplements. Aside from Garden of Life vitamins, I’ll also be using its RAW Fit meal-replacement shakes, fücoTHIN Green fat-burners and Perfect Food RAW Green Powders.
I’m writing this because it will make me accountable. The thought of not following through and having to answer to you should be pretty stellar motivation. Anyone else up for a challenge? I’ll be giving away a complete set of every product I use in a few weeks…after I’m through the detox and I can drink wine again.
Wish me luck!

DISCLAIMER: Garden of Life is providing me with the products I’ll be using for my eight-week challenge, but my results will be reported honestly like all of my other reviews.

So looking forward to hearing how this works for you and what your results are. I need something. Anything. I need to cleanse. I feel dirty inside! LOL. sorta.

The cleanse was AMAZING overall. I felt better, my skin glowed and I got back into 3 pairs of jeans I hadn’t worn in years…in 12 days. And the best part is that I didn’t starve myself in the least. I look forward to sharing the full report in a few weeks!

I’ll take it under advisement, Karen. 🙂
