It’s one of those moments that’s universally recorded by parents: baby’s first laugh.
What made each of my kids laugh their socks off differed wildly. The K Man – at around two or three months old – would lose his mind when I sang a song I made up called “Feet, feet, feet. Feet-y, feet, feet.” I would grab his chubby feet and smell them and kiss them wildly. I know what you’re thinking – I’m absolutely hilarious. And I deserve a songwriting contract.
Miss Q, on the other hand, was a tougher audience but once we got her going, she rewarded us with the deepest belly laughs. You know, the infectious kind that results in the whole family rolling on the floor.
My favourite moments are when both kids are laughing so hard that it’s hard to discern where one’s giggle begins and another’s chuckle ends.
Every so often, I happen to have a camera nearby (or in the case of the one in the bottom-right corner, employ a professional photographer!) to capture these moments. They look a little something like this:
My guess is that you’ve been able to snap pics and videos of your little ones smiling like crazy or laughing hysterically, too. Why not share it with Fisher-Price and enter to win a bunch of great prizes?
The Fisher-Price Best Little Laugh contest runs until July 15, 2013. Find your funniest, happiest and most laughiest (that’s totally a word) photos and videos and upload them to win one of eight weekly prizes, like Fisher-Price toys and even gas cards.
And while you’re surfing the Fisher-Price website, be sure to check out the new Laugh & Learn area, where you can play music videos and play games that are appropriate for babies and toddlers. I have to say that the free Laugh & Learn apps (like this one and this one) are some of the best out there and we have just about all of them installed on our iPhones and iPad. I can always trust that the content is safe and ad-free, and even The K Man – at nearly five years old – has been known to enjoy them alongside his baby sister.
Have fun trying to decide which photo or video to use as your entry. Even if you don’t win, I guarantee that walking down memory lane will bring a smile to your face – and maybe a few laughs of your own.
