Garden of Life Organic Plant Protein shake: Carrot Cake-ish

I actually adapted this recipe from one given to me during my Arbonne Transformation Challenge, but I’m subbing in Garden of Life’s Organic Plant Protein powder in Smooth Vanilla instead of Arbonne’s vanilla powder (just compare the ingredients and the price and you’ll know why). First, peel, cut and steam about half a cup to a cup of organic carrots. You can either let them cool overnight or just add two good fistfuls of ice when you blend this shake. I use unsweetened almond milk because I find it gives this shake a creamier texture than if I just use water, and I also dump A LOT of cinnamon into it. Because I heart cinnamon. So use as much or as little as you like. This is seriously the closest you’re going to get to carrot cake in a cup. And you can say you had a serving or two of vegetables at breakfast!

  25. Way to sell it- who is going to turn down carrot cake for breakfast? We are kind of stuck in a smoothie rut so carrots are a fresh idea for us.

  27. Amazing that something so healthy can be so rich tasting! I would definitely consider this a “brunch” replacement for the weekends.
