Big B is your official guest reviewer today…even if you-know-who is doing all the typing. I love my man with some serious scruff, but he likes short back-and-sides on his head and tries to be clean-shaven as often as possible. He’s a big fan of hot shaves but doesn’t get them as much as he used to.
********************************************************************
I’ve been shaving since I was 15 years old. Starting with disposable razors — back when there was but one blade on them — and progressed to hot shaves. The only time I’ve ever used a dry electric razor is with a vibrating disposable razor. Now, of course, there are up to four blades on a razor and I probably shave once every couple of weeks…when my wife lets me.
Thanks to Movember, I ended up with an impressive handlebar-style ‘stache, which gave me the perfect opportunity to give the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler a run for its money:
THE GOOD
The Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler is pretty compact; it takes up much less room than my usual electric grooming razor. In fact, it’s so conveniently sized, I keep it in my kit bag and have taken it away on business trips with me.
Since there’s no plug required (thank you, Duracell), it can also be moved quickly and without fuss into our bathroom cabinets if we need to fancy up the house and make it look like we clean up after ourselves like that all the time.
It’s really easy to use. Gillette’s Fusion ProGlide Styler cleaned off my Movember evidence no problem.
I like that all three heads (the attachments that let you pick how long you want the hair) fit into three slots in the back of the razor stand. And although it took a bit of jiggling to figure out how to get them to stay, that took all of 10 minutes and they’ve fit snugly and securely ever since.
And it can go in the shower with me. Love that. The wet shave is a great shave.
Only $20? That’s a good deal.
THE GAFFE
I’m not a huge fan of its head. It’s too small. It takes longer to groom and trim with the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler as a result.
