Guest reviewer Melissa has two Disney-loving children — Aubrey (3) and Jackson (5). You can follow along on their adventures at Momma Mimi’s Musings.

My kids LOVE everything Disney so I jumped at the chance to be the a#DreamBigPrincess reviewer with Hasbro and Mommy Gearest.
Both of my kids have vivid imaginations and they use them to create elaborate tales and stories almost every day. I love watching them play and get creative. Most of their adventures involve extravagant costumes and a doll or two, so you imagine that both were thrilled to be chosen to test and review these toys.
They waited very (im)patiently for the box to arrive. When it finally did, they tore it open and squealed with delight at its contents. Inside they found:
- Elena of Avalor
- Elena Royal Gown Fashion Doll
- Cinderella Stamp and Design Studio
ELENA OF AVALOR
THE GOOD
- Her earrings and bracelet are removeable and can easily be interchanged with other Disney dolls
- Her hair is down and is easily brushed and styled
- Her dress is quite beautiful and very well made
- She comes with a scepter (a long wand or stick that is carried by royalty), which in my son’s mind made her a super hero and therefore totally cool for boys to play with!
THE GAFFE
- The barrette in her hair doesn’t stay in. This frustrated my daughter who kept trying to put it in
- She’s not posable and doesn’t sit very well on her own
ELENA ROYAL GOWN FASHION DOLL
THE GOOD
- Her jewelry (earrings and bracelet) are removable and interchangeable with the other Elena doll. This is great for imaginative play
- She has a very lovely face and her dress is beautiful adding that special “Disney magic” to this doll
THE GAFFE
- Her hair is elegantly styled, which prevents little girls who love styling their dolls hair from doing so without ruining it
- Her dress, though beautiful, is not very well constructed. It is split wide open on either side of the ruffle. My daughter kept telling me it was ripped when really it’s just a flaw in the dress
- She’s not posable and doesn’t sit will on her own
- Her crown refused to stay in her hair. This was frustrating to my daughter and led to at least one missing piece
CINDERELLA STAMP AND DESIGN STUDIO
THE GOOD
- The pumpkin stamp — designed to look like a sewing machine — is very easy to use. Both of my kids were able to use it with ease to decorate both of Cinderella’s gowns
- Cinderella is fully posable
- Her shoes are removable and look just like glass slippers
- Both the doll and her dresses are very true to the movie. My kids easily recognized both gowns
THE GAFFE
- She only comes with two dresses, which my kids decorated quite quickly. They kept asking to design more gowns, so it would be great if it came with more or pointed us in the right direction to purchase additional gowns
- The dresses were also very difficult for both my three and five year olds to remove and put back on by themselves (though same goes for Barbie and Monster High dolls)
- The box says she comes with more than 75 stickers, but the majority of these are paper strips that didn’t stick well to the fabric gowns at all. Hasbro and Disney should double the amount of gem stickers that come with the set
- The stamp does stain clothing and surfaces but washed off easily enough from my children’s fingers/hands
THE GEARS
- ELENA OF AVALOR = 4/5
- ELENA ROYAL GOWN FASHION DOLL = 3.5/5
- CINDERELLA STAMP AND DESIGN STUDIO = 4/5
