App Cover PhotoOh, those gold bunnies. Walking the aisles in the grocery store this past weekend, the gold-wrapped chocolate bunnies from Lindt reminded me that Easter is just around the corner. Next weekend, in fact!

And in time for all of your Easter celebrations, Lindt Canada is celebrating the launch of a lovely digital storybook called The Bell that Rang in Easter.

Here’s why you should download it from iTunes and Google Play:

  • It’s FREE! And who doesn’t love free?
  • Lindt Canada will donate $1 for every app download to the Children’s Aid Foundation (up to $50,000) — so even if you don’t have kids and you’re reading this, you should totally download the app just for the donation factor
  • The story is interactive and fun — the illustrations are wonderfully detailed and colourful, and your child will love tapping, swiping and tilting your smartphone to help the story progress (mine did, anyway!)
  • Oh, and it’ll give you the answer to the question for the contest below…

If you live in the GTA, there are also some family-friendly Easter-themed events you’ll definitely want to check out:

Square One Shopping Mall (Mississauga)

From March 16 to 26, immersed in a 1,400 square foot display filled with life-sized scenes from the digital book, families can enjoy colouring stations and photo opps. Oh – and get this! – even personalized gold bunnies will be available.

TIP: Guests who show proof of the smartphone app download will receive a special Easter offer!

LIVE READING: A special reading by the book’s award-winning Canadian author, Ashley Spires, will be held on Friday, March 18 in the mall’s Centre Court (10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.).

On March 17, author Ashley Spires will do live readings of The Bell that Rang in Easter at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the Lindt Chocolate Shop.

  29. I downloaded the app this past week and I loved how interactive it is! My niece & nephew loved it as well, and their favorite part was helping the Maitre make the chocolate bunny! My family LOVES Lindt Chocolate, and I’m sure if I searched my house, I’d find some of those bells lying around!

    The bunny’s name was Theo!
