Guest reviewer Karen is a high school VP with two daughters, ages two and four. She’s a long-time precision ice skater who still finds time to compete. How?, I ask. Little People Friends & the beauty of imaginative play (sponsored post) #FPLittlePeople
One of my fondest toys growing up was a Little People farm. There were no flashing lights or battery-powered anythings, but I just loved to hear the “moo” sound when I opened the barn doors. That farm still lives at my parents’ house, and my kids play with it just about every time we visit….
Mommy Gearest’s Glorious Gift Guide: 2013 edition (gifts less than $25)
When Canadian Family asked me to choose 20 of my favourite gifts for every member of the family, it was really hard to whittle it down. From companies who pitched their latest and greatest to products I discovered on my own, the number of amazing gift ideas this year is astounding. So I decided that…

SANUS VuePoint F180 TV wall mount (mini-review)
THE PRODUCT The SANUS VuePoint F180 flat-panel TV wall mount, which fits most 32″ to 70″ TVs. THE GOOD This SANUS wall mount holds up to 130 pounds of TV weight. I was a bit worried when I read that because we have an older 52-inch plasma TV (bought around 2007) and it’s ridiculously heavy. Some…

Problem being, of course, he was still too small to…

The movie: The Croods (DreamWorks) When it’s available: October 1, 2013 What it’s about: A long, long time ago, there were cavemen. And, presumably, cavewomen. They coexisted with strange, prehistoric creatures and relied on brute strength and instinct to stay alive. The Croods are the last cave-family, and Grug — the dad — feeds his family stories to…
My post-Thanksgiving project: Garden of Life challenge
I’ve been doing a lot of work around the house – from our laundry reno to closet organization – and I’ve been working my buns off into the wee hours just about every night of the week to share information about different products for your family, like this super-fun assignment with Canadian Family. Unfortunately, that…
